How To Support The BIPOC Collective

While the BIPOC in Animal Well-Being Collective (BIPOC AWC) exists for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, allies can support us and our work by:

  • Spreading the word about the group to BIPOC colleagues/staff

  • Working to be better informed through introspection and available resources

  • Amplifying and hiring BIPOC voices within your organization and community

  • Donating to the Collective to foster continued growth of the group

One of the most courageous steps you can take is to reflect on yourself- your words, actions, and how they may uphold the racist systems we’ve been taught.

  • What do you need to unlearn?

  • How do you actively support an equitable and just society?

  • What does it mean to be an ally versus an accomplice?

Knowing where to start can feel overwhelming but taking the first step matters.
